Exhaustion
Characters: Prim, open
When: Monday afternoon
Location: Common area
Warnings/Rating: None anticipated
Summary: Prim is sleepy but doesn't want to sleep
Status: Open, ongoing
Prim was bored. She shouldn't be, she guessed. There were now almost a dozen doors they'd found to be unlocked that she could go explore. There were books to read and movies to watch and games to play. There was an ever-changing attic to explore, or a cellar. But she was tired, too. With the nightmares plaguing her more often than not, it was hard to get a good night's sleep. It had been a little easier after Marvel had been randomly relocated into her room, but even his presence didn't completely obliterate the nightmares. Still, it was nice to have her friend there even if people might talk. It wasn't like there was anything going on, and she could hardly help it that the house put him in her room. But people were people, and even though there was only a handful of them here -- less than there'd been when the train was on its last legs -- they'd still probably have some thoughts on the matter. But maybe not. When she'd mentioned it to Simon, he'd just nodded and said it was good she had company. Sometimes though, Prim thought Simon still thought of her as a little girl. As the child she'd been on the train. Which made her wonder if Marvel thought about her like that, too. Which made her wonder if it mattered or why she'd care. Which made her realize she really was tired. Rubbing lightly at her closed eyes, Prim sighed and yawned and gave some thought to venturing to her room and having a nap. But that might throw off her sleep schedule, and ... there was no promise that naps were nightmare free. No, maybe she'd just have a Coke and watch some TV for a little while. The TV here seemed to have a lot of the shows she'd liked in Point Placid, as well as a few she'd never heard of but seemed interesting. Pulling a soda from the fridge, Prim made her way to the common area and if no one was already using the TV, she plunked herself down and started to channel surf. Otherwise, she watched whatever was already on. |
