Who: Avi & Keira What: Vday #2 Stuff n Thangs Where: Places, mostly their house When: Foredated to tomorrow: Sunday 2/14, around 11pm-ish Rating: Sap ----------------------------------------------------------- Avi was nervous. It was the simplest way to put it. So far, her second non-traditional Valentine’s day with Keira was going, well in a word, perfectly. They had decided that they would sleep in, since they could. When they did wake up in the late morning, after a delay fooling around in the shower, they had gotten dressed and ready for their day. Like last year, Avi had written out options on index cards and sealed them into envelopes. They went to brunch and as they were waiting for the check, Avi had Keira pick one of the envelopes first, which sent them on a trip to the zoo! When they had first arrived in the restaurant, Avi had excused herself to the restroom to text Sammy to let her know that they were out of the house. Sammy’s mission was to swing by and set up one of Remy’s borrowed gopro cameras for eventually when they were return home for the end of their day.
As it was, they made their way through the day singing along on and off key far too loudly to the radio while driving from mystery destination to mystery destination. Avi managed to pull Keira into no less than three photo booths they had found in and around the varying activities. After a lengthy visit strolling together around the zoo, their second envelope took them to velasavsky panorama and their third took them to a Korean barbecue place and just barely made it in before the ‘we failed to make reservations,’ last minute dinner rush commenced. Avi had wisely chosen restaurants for the envelopes that specifically didn’t take reservations since she know they’d be all booked. They took their time stuffing themselves full, laughing and joking around. It was always easy being around Keira, even when times were rough or emotional. In fact when that happened she preferred to be around Keira even more. Anyway! To fight off their food coma, another envelope was selected, which took them to a karaoke bar and led to quite a few amusing moments both for each of them when they got up for a turn and just from watching everyone else who ‘performed,’ as well. Their final envelope took them to glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, which was a nice ending cap for their obviously overly mature valentine’s day date. It was almost eleven when they had arrived home for ‘dessert, sexy time and sleep - in that order,’ as it had been put.
Avi hooked her arm around Keira’s waist and stole a number of kisses on their way up the walk towards the door, something she had been unable to stop doing all day, really. Not that there had been any reason to stop, though. Once they made it to the door, Avi let them inside and then shut and locked the door behind them. She was a complete bundle of nerves by the time she stepped in the house and had already set the gopro by remote app so it was running in the kitchen, where they would have to go for dessert. She had tossed her keys in the bowl by the door and set her back down next to it before she had swept Keira up into her arms and slowly shuffled them toward the kitchen while kissing Keira as senseless as possible the whole way. She stopped suddenly by the counter and broke the kiss.
“Oh! I forgot one of your gifts!” Avi had already given Keira a new handblown glass iris as a throwback to the one that she had gotten Keira last year. This one, however had been made by Keegan’s sister for her. Avi figured at some point, Keira would have enough for a bouquet and that would be neat. Right? Avi held onto Keira’s and as she leaned over to a gift bag that was sitting next to the counter. “Figures, I forgot when I put it down here,” She rolled her eyes as she crouched down to it. She pulled its contents out and lifted a plush zombie narwhal from the bag with her free hand. slipped around the tip of the narwhal’s horn was one shiny white gold engagement ring. Avi made sure when she lifted it that the end of the horn with the ring on it would, hopefully be the first thing Keira saw, since she was already set down on one knee in front of her....holding a zombie plush with an engagement ring on it in one hand and holding Keira’s hand with her other hand as she looked up at her. She was thinking this idea seemed much better in her head, possibly. She was also extra nervous since the last time she had planned to propose to someone it had blown up in her face. She was also thinking she was never so happy that an important life decision had blown up in her face the way it had because otherwise, she wouldn’t be here with Keira right now, holding her breath and trying not to go blue in the face from it while waiting for a reaction so she could actually actual question.
