Boss Fight /cues epic music
With Helix back in Jethro's hands they had a lot of catching up to do. If you could call mostly avoiding each other as catching up. But this evening the bald man had his prize fighter down in the ring, running drills, exercises and testing just how much he may have learned or grown soft over those four years. It seemed that prison kept him well in shape and though living in the boons had made him lose some weight, he still moved just as fast. In fact he was pretty sure the boys endurance was increased somehow. Thicker skin or something of the like.
Helix wasn't without some fresh bruises from his less than gentle trainer. Since being back he'd mouthed off and fallen into old patterns and of course Jethro had to reassert his dominance from the time they were apart. It was mostly a show though. Jethro had a plan buzzing around in his head and he'd been growing bored with his usually feisty captive. Aiden was proving to be a disappointment, so he thought to up the ante.
He'd promised him an honest chance and he was about to give it to him. If only because he was too confident in his own skills to believe the other could win. He had a back up plan in any case and maybe he could give Helix a final test as well. He'd broken Aiden, both of them did, he doubted he could get much more entertainment out of keeping him here. So a quick death would be best to finally get this annoying boy out of his life. He couldn't give him too much time to recover after all, or he may become more of a pain than he was worth. He wasn't one to take too many chances.
So he had his goons go upstairs and drag Aiden down into the underground stadium where they were practicing. There was helix, drenched in sweat in the middle of the ring and fighting against an automated opponent. It couldn't kill him but it was some rigorous work and he'd been pushing hard due to his boiling emotions over everything. It was the best release and only helped to showcase his strength. But he burned out fast and Jethro was growing frustrated as the boy began to lose his focus.
"Dammit. You know better than to expend all of your energy in the beginning of the fight!" He hopped up into the ring as they should have been dragging Aiden in. He turned the training droid off and socked the boy in the stomach, grabbing a fist full of white fronds. "You've grown weak out there. You can't possibly expect to survive the ring as you are now." Which was harsher than it really was. He'd be able to win against the best of them but his emotions were clouding his judgement.
Jethro sharply backhanded the boy, sending him back against the ropes, certain he heard the approaching footsteps. He mentally smirked, wondering just what sort of reaction all of this would have on Aiden.
