The Final Night -----> Helix
Aidan wasn't sure if the days were crawling by or disappearing in a blur but whatever it was they were almost out of time. Helix had managed to come up with a decent enough plan, a plan they were going to set in motion the very next morning and with just a few short hours between them and dawn Aidan was getting restless. Nervous.
And it wasn't just because of the impending attack.
He had made up his mind long ago, possibly longer than he even realized himself. A good bit of it could be blamed on his own traditional upbringing, it was just one of those things you were supposed to do when the time was right and while this definitely wasn't it there was also a pretty good possiblity of it being the only chance he got. He needed this and maybe Helix did too, something solid to hold on to, a reminder of what they were fighting for. Perhaps it was stupid, perhaps he'd jinx it or do something the other wasn't on board for but he had to try... it wouldn't be the first time he held out his heart and hoped it wouldn't be crushed.
Said heart was beating furiously in his chest as he finally mustered up as much courage as he could find and slipped out of the kitchen where he'd been silently freaking out to join the other in the small living room. He moved with some caution, clearing his throat before speaking up.
