"I hope so," he shrugged with a sigh. Though honestly it'll probably take a while for him to get further in his career. The people in the Ministry were cutthroat and competitive that sometimes that promotion you were hoping for would go to another person, no matter how much qualified you were. It was kind of a toxic place, but it was politics and it had always been a dirty game. "Are you okay? I'll get us some water."
As he got up to fetch them some water and moved towards the counter to request for some, he took notice of the way her cheeks turned pink. It was just like before when she would get nervous, shy, and stammer, and he was right to think that there was still a part of Madison the way he knew her first hidden underneath all the new layers. "Here," he handed her a nice cold mug of water when he returned.
A further demonstration of the 'old Madison' manifested itself when she talked about her father. She felt rather uncomfortable talking about it, so he didn't question any further. It might be a touchy subject and he wasn't going to be an insensitive dick about it. He laughed when she asked if he was interesting in buying and stretched his body a little, shifting into a more relaxed position on his chair.
"Well, I could for old time's sake. I haven't had any in a while and I guess I could use something to relax with at the end of the day. Do I still have to pay though?" He grinned, remembering that he never paid her back for the one they used up.
