Alex wasn't sure where he was. Or how he got here, but when he rose to his feet and discovered a nightmarish scenario that was much different from the one he was in back home, it only pissed him off. Instead of a red sky and a virus outbreak growing all over Manhattan, Alex was greeted with a dense fog and his cell phone wouldn't stop emitting a strange static sound. (How he even got the cell phone was a mystery.)
Though his vision was obstructed, Alex could make out several rides and attractions and for a split second, thought he ended up at Coney Island. But no, the detail of the rides and of the land were completely different from what he'd seen. Even stranger, there weren't any people in sight. Alex's predatory instincts only heightened when he knew something dangerous was lurking in the fog.
When a voice called out, Alex jumped and began his search for the disembodied noise, ready to strike. But when the voice stopped, it was apparent it wasn't a threat (yet) and Alex didn't need to transform one of his arms into a weapon. But he had been found out. And how that was even possible was a mystery to Alex.
Walking closer to the source of the voice, Alex found the figure it belonged to and replied, "Not my doing."
