Gritting her teeth, Carrie White washed the pig’s blood from her skin with mechanical like movements. She could still hear the laughter as the water turned steadily pinker. “Mama was right”, she softly groaned. Tommy didn’t like her and Sue wasn’t her friend. It was all just a trick to embarrass her. The only bit of solace Carrie found was in the memory of what she did to her senior class and it was the last trick they’d ever play on Carrie White or anyone else for that matter.
She knew what she had done was wrong but it had been so easy and as she remembered the howls of laughter, Carrie didn’t feel remorse. All she felt was tired and sad. Tomorrow she’d figure out what to do. Tonight, all Carrie wanted was to cry and go to sleep. She stood up in the bathtub and reached for the towel, droplets of bloody water running down her skin that turned the towel pink as she dried off. With the same stiff movement, Carrie dressed in her favorite blue cotton night gown and headed out of the bathroom.
That’s when it hit her. A moment of weakness that caused the teen to black out.
What seemed like only moments later, Carrie awoke to hear a loud noise. "Mama?" Carrie sat up and brushed blond strands off her face, blue eyes widening as she took in the room. This wasn't the bathroom! This wasn't even her house! The young girl scrambled to her feet, her eyes darting the room until she saw a door which she ran to and opened. Outside the room was the hallway which Carrie followed until it lead her to the lobby were she saw the first sign of life. Too bad it was two strange men she had never seen before. One of whom had a pick axe. "Where's mama?" she blurted out without thinking. "What's going on?"
