Escape meant going past the other girl, which Tatum had been trying to decide how to do. Just keep her head down, grab her bag, get out and go back to the ship and laugh with someone about how stupid she had been to come out here by herself. But then Teagan spoke, and once contact was initiated, breaking off was always so much harder. Being spoken to was worse than eye-contact. Smalltalk was never, ever her forte.
"Uhm, y-yeah. I thought I-I'd.. check it out, s-see what's g-good," she answered, figuring the God's honest truth was best. She wished she had chosen her words better, however, within seconds. "Like, n-not see-- well, I'm n-not here to l-like, see. I don't m-mean l-look at p-people or anything," she quickly added, scrunching her eyes closed for a moment while mentally kicking herself in the ass. She never shut up while she was ahead.
"I-It is a nice d-day though, uhm.. super n-nice."
