Dakota pursed her lips together and thought about it for a minute as if their toast was a very serious matter. Dakota was very superstitious so for her a toast was important. You had to say the right words or it was bad luck. Suddenly an idea, like a little cartoon light bulb appearing over her head. "Fame and fortune. Let's toast to that." She grinned. It wasn't as if she and Saint didn't already have enough fame and fortune but it never hurt to have more.
She clinked her glass gently against Saint's before taking a slow sip. Her eyebrows rose in surprise. This was even the good stuff. That was good because she had no clue what her fans were going to be like. Maybe they would luck out and find another fashion conscious girl and they would all have a common subject to talk about. That would be nice, wouldn't it? Most of Dakota's fans were young girls who wanted to be just like her. It was flattering.
Leaning back in her seat she brushed a few strands of strawberry blonde hair out of her face and straightened her dress. She had fallen in love with it as soon as she had seen it. Saint had doubts but once she had actually put the dress on it had worked. The gold trim at the hem was what had initially caught Dakota's attention. She liked shiny things. The shinier the better.
"Have you talked to my mom yet today? How's Bixby? I miss him so much!" She was still a little miffed that the cruise hadn't let her bring her dog on board. It wasn't that she didn't trust her mother to take care of her little pooch but Bixby and Dakota had a special bond. He was probably feeling so sad and abandoned that it made Dakota a little sad.
