Cycle 003: Voyage of the Mare Crisium (June 2nd-3rd)
WHO: Anyone/Everyone!
WHEN: Sunday, June 2nd to Monday, June 3rd
WHERE: Heading into our first port (so en route to and at Gustavia).
WHAT: This post unlocks Days 3 and 4 of the Cruise! If you want to play out departing or boarding the actual ship, feel free to post below, otherwise, you can go off to start your own threads (either for something listed in the itinerary here, or flashback scenes to establish character connections).
WARNING: Please don't feel like you have to jump in new scenes right away if you're working on incompletes. Finish those first if you can, for continuity’s sake. This is just to open up more options for those who need more to do. Anything going into high-rating territory should generally be peeled off of group scenes into its own thread.
After a full day out at sea, the passengers of the Mare Crisium were adjusting to life on the cruise ship. June 2nd marked another full day on open water, and the first of two scheduled formal dress dinners: prizewinning and special guests were offered the opportunity to dine with Captain Archer, as well as the on-board celebrities!
Day 4 Monday, June 3rd, 2013 On June 3rd, the Mare Crisium reached its first port: St. Barthelemy on the island of Gustavia, known primarily for its French cuisine and topless beaches. Passengers could sign up for various off-ship activities, or they could stay on the ship. Employees were each offered up to four hours of optional shore leave either in the morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on their usual shift. The ship did lose three passengers and one employee (Walt McClintock) to St. Barth, after they came down with a case of food poisoning from some supposedly bad shellfish consumed the day prior. As no other passengers took ill, the general rumor was that those who abandoned ship at St. Bath’s simply didn’t want to admit to seasickness. No new passengers were taken aboard at this port. Departure from St. Barthelemey was set at 9:30 pm, which meant all employees and passengers had to be back on the dock and boarding the ship by 8:30 pm. Only personal items (backpacks, purses) were allowed on and off the ship through the security checkpoint, and passengers’ bags would be scanned for contraband items upon return to the ship, though as St. Barth’s is a duty-free port, some shopping would only be expected. [OOC Modnote: Boarding scenes can be played below, and Day 3 and 4 of the Cycle Itinerary have now been unlocked for play. Feel free to post group scenes for any of the above listed events if you want, or any other scenes you can think of (keeping the above schedules in mind for what your characters might want to do, or when they’d possibly be working). Flashback scenes (dated prior to May 31st) to establish characters are also encouraged, especially for those of you with pre-established connections. The next Plotmaster post will unveil more of the itinerary, and offer a new schedule. This is how the clock will be moved forward for this cycle.] |
