When the police finally do get word of the body, they will have a discussion with the security guard who is currently guarding the locked pool. He'll given them the following information:”Weirdest fucking thing. I get called from the front desk about a drunk passed out in the pool, right? It happens sometimes. Anyway, I get here and there's this hot blonde chick and some retard kid. Or deaf, I guess. Idunno if he was actually, you know, brain damaged. He's puking all over the place, and was saying how this giant Mexican killed this dude and then knocked him out, or whatever... he wasn't making much sense. The chick was calm about the whole thing. Said it was an accident, so I wasn't sure who to call. You guys or the paramedics. We tried to get an ambulance up here but I guess the system's all fucked with the storm on. I'm surprised you guys made it. Anyway, I guess the guy was in the pool at first, but they pulled him out. The chick and the retard. I told them they shouldn'ta done that. Touch the body and shit. It's still on the side of the pool where they left it. I kicked 'em out, though, so they wouldn't mess with it. Hey, be careful when you go in there... smells like puke. Oh, and I got their names, too, right here...”
Rooms 128 and 209 will receive a call from the front desk at around the same time. Because there would be no answer to the phone in 209, please assume that a bellhop went to the room to fetch Mr. Patenaude personally. Once found, Hunter and Charlie will be led to separate conference rooms in the hotel, where they will sit and wait to be questioned by a police officer. The witness will be asked to take a seat in a chair at a table, with the police officer sitting across from him or her. The witness will have no clue what the police have been told thus far, if anything.
Both witnesses will be asked the same question to begin with, some variation of:Tell me what happened in the pool room, from the beginning.
The witness will then be allowed to tell the story, uninterrupted, after which an officer may comment with any follow-up questions or discussion.
