"Yeah, like hell you don't know what I'm talking about," Hunter snapped back, eyes narrowed, hands moving to clench the cart in front of her. Max had asked her, specifically, not to do anything rash. Nothing that she would regret. But as far as she was concerned, with the guilty party standing in front of her, there was very little that Hunter could have done and regretted doing. She was still having visions of making Casper bite the curb out front.
"Why? I don't know the fuck why. I dunno why the fuck do you do anything that you do, ya fucking freak! You tell me. If you own up, it'll be easier on you," she shot back. She didn't have a motive dreamed up for why the pale girl would have done it, other than plain dislike for each other.. but specific motive of not, Hunter felt certain she was barking up the right tree. Who else would it be? Who else had a big enough beef with her to warrant a terrible thing like that? Who else in town was sick enough to harm a helpless old dog? Who was sneaky enough to get into her trailer unnoticed? Far as Hunter was concerned, the answer came up 'Casper' every time.
She almost snorted at the thought of Casper paying double rent. A York, estranged or not, being short on cash. It was kind of funny. Like seeing a dog walk on two legs. "Boo hoo, gotta pay all your own bills all by yourself, huh? Why don't to ask your piece of shit brother for some money? Big momma won't let him bail you out?"
