Subject: Fwd: Sullivan St. ClaireSheriff Avery, in the interest of full disclosure as discussed during our interview in the Susanna Wilson case, I am sharing with you the following information that I have likewise given my lawyer. My apologies if this is unnecessary, but I've been informed that the cause of death might be questionable in this case, and I wish to be forthcoming out of the gate in this instance, rather than withhold potentially relevant information.
T. Robert YorkI do not believe that I have any connection to Sullivan St. Claire. The person in question informed me that their name was Madeleine Carlisle. We met at a coffee shop in town in mid-December. Because I was given the impression that this person was alone in town, I invited her to accompany me to several events. All of these interactions were well-witnessed, either taking place in public or in the presence of a driver, with one exception, which I will describe below.
After several days of not receiving word from Ms. Carlisle about an upcoming function, I went to the home wherein I knew she was residing simply to find out if she was still in town. She was in a poor mental state, so I drove her to the hospital and helped her check in. There were no witnesses to my arrival at her home that I am aware of, but the hospital staff can attest that the person was alive when I brought her in and can verify her mental health. There were minor wounds, but they were self-inflicted (she had been writing on herself with some kind of sharp implement).
That was the last interaction that I had with her. At no point did she confess to me that her name was Sullivan St. Claire, though I had deduced the person was a St. Claire relative at the very least, given that they were staying at the St. Claire property.
I was intending to make a bid on that house when it goes up for sale, and I was hoping that this person would be able to assist me in that matter or put me in touch with someone who could, since it's been difficult finding out who owns that estate. None of that had been brought up, however, and I have never officially made any offers on that house, nor will I if it goes on auction.
When a nurse informed me of the person's identity as Sullivan St. Claire, I severed ties. I made no contact with this person, did not visit them in the hospital, and did not follow-up on their treatment, as I felt it was none of my business. The same nurse also informed me of this person's death last night, which is tragic, but has nothing to do with me.
There really isn't any more to it than that.
