Murder Suspects - Round 1
Who: Police will want to bring in Marcus Caravahlo, Jon Bennett, Gilman Black, and Mike McBrayer.
When: December 26th-27th.
Where: Crows Landing Police Station
What: Suspect/Witness Interviews.
Warning: Probably language. Responses to this thread (and any follow up questions) do not have to be in full prose.
After the the body was found on December 25th, the police took an initial statement from Gilman Black and let him go. Once the scene was documented, the body was taken to the hospital morgue. Bettie Grant was brought in to positively identify the body as Susanna Wilson’s before the autopsy was conducted. She very generously gave the police what information she had about when she’d last seen her daughter, though it didn’t differ from what she’d given them for the missing person’s report she’d filed.
With one small variant. She was absolutely adamant that Mike McBrayer had killed her daughter.
Because they were among the last two people who’d seen the victim alive, Marcus Caravahlo and Jon Bennett were called in for questioning on the 26th, primarily as witnesses. After Dr. O’Neill confirmed wrongful death, the police began to question murder suspects. Gilman Black was called back in on the 27th, due to the fact that he’d found the body, to go over his statement and answer questions. And, of course, Mike McBrayer was asked down to the station as well. Only Gilman Black would know that he was being interviewed in relation to a murder case. The body is not yet public knowledge, and Caravahlo, Bennett, and McBrayer would not be told that Susanna Wilson is dead.
All four interviews initially began the same way. The man being questioned was asked into an interrogation room, and sat opposite an officer of the small Crows Landing police force. Unlike in the movies, no aggressive bright lights were shined into their faces. They were not berated or yelled at. They were all calmly asked the following questions by the person interviewing them:
What is your full name?
How old are you?
Where do you work?
Where do you live?
Do you live alone?
Do you know Susanna Wilson? How do you know her?
When was the last time you saw or spoke to Ms. Wilson? Can you describe how she was behaving? Was there anything unusual about her, was she with someone, etc?
Where were you on December 20th and 21st? Describe the events of those two days.
[OOC: Have your characters answer the preceding questions in a comment. NPC police officers may then ask follow-up questions specific to the answers given.]
