Who: Gilman and Annie. What: AU Prompt “Haunted Honeymoon”. Rating/Warning: A teensy bit racy then a whole lot of murdery violence. Setting: Annie marries Gilman, but that’s not the scary part. Gilman used to be a mad scientist, and before he met Annie, was so convinced he’d be alone forever that he built himself a girlfriend. Once he found love in a living woman, he had no use for his creation and did away with her. Or he thought he did. She’s followed her creator/lover to Hawaii and she is pissed.
Gilman couldn’t remember the last time he’d been so happy. A year ago he spent most of his time alone in his drafty old house, only coming out to teach at the local university. He’d worked for a government laboratory, once upon a time, but they found his methods... disagreeable. Gilman had just about given up hope, spending his evenings with a reanimated corpse he’d named ‘Eve’.
Doctor Gilman Black was not a man lacking in confidence. Or hubris.
But then he’d met Annie, who hadn’t taken him quite so seriously as most did. She’d like his odd manners, and maybe she’d liked that he owned a large home and drove a nice car, or even that he was a doctor with a prestigious job. Whatever her motivation? They were in love. It was unfortunate, to have discarded such genius work like it was trash for the curb, but worth it. Nothing could compare to this.
The flight had been an easy one. They’d been given leis (they were American tourists to a T) and their honeymoon suite had champagne waiting. They had spent the day enjoying the beach, enjoying the scenery, and enjoying a very fancy dinner. Now, he was sitting on the bed in silk shorts, waiting anxiously for his wife (!!) to emerge from the bathroom with her ‘surprise’. He stiffened when he heard a noise by their balcony, but when he looked over, it was nothing. There were all sorts of exotic birds and animals here, so there was nothing to worry about.
“I think dying of anticipation is a real thing,” Gilman called out, grinning, “And I don’t know if the ink is dry on those life insurance papers, so you might not want to kill me just yet.”
