Re: Monday, December 31st [4:45PM] - Avery & Teagan & OPEN
Avery was lost in a particularly satisfying fantasy of having a couple of those daggers in the case and learning to throw them perfectly to hit any target. He had the notion that they would be well beyond his means, so he was just as glad they weren't priced. That way, he could at least pretend he might be able to buy one. They were ornate and decorative and also functional, as evidenced by how wickedly sharp they looked. He tended to think most antiques were useless, for looks only, but these weren't.
He'd been aware of someone edging a little closer to him, but it hadn't set off sufficient personal space alarms for him to look around. Still, he was mildly surprised when he heard Teagan Mitchell's voice. He hadn't seen her since the day she'd picked up her car, which wasn't too surprising, since he hadn't been to the video store just lately. If she'd come in for gas, she'd come by when he'd been off-shift.
The odd term caught his attention, and he stepped a little closer to see what she was staring at. The elaborate looking item in the case didn't look the least bit familiar to him. "What the hell's a pear of anguish?" he asked, frowning a little.
