The large man almost dropped the dart he was holding. He pocketed it, instead, suddenly losing all interest in the game as he turned to Jon. Normally, he wouldn't give a shit who was getting laid. In this case, however, he just happened to care. Rob York had been a mild irritant and a peripheral acquaintance ever since he'd followed Jon home from boy scouts or wherever the fuck it was they'd met. Marcus had tried to get along with Rob for Jon's sake. He still occasionally tried. Buying the guy a hooker fell under the category of trying, especially if it had resulted in successfully getting Rob laid.
In fact, that meant Marcus might possibly be able to lay some sort of roundabout claim on having been the one to instigate Robert York losing his virginity, which might just make up for all the bullshit he'd had to put up with over the years from that guy.
"What fucking necklace? The one she had on tonight?" Marcus grinned widely, but it was far more Cheshire Cat than wolf. "You sure?"
He already knew the answer, though. Jon didn't make shit up about other people. It would be a strange habit for the man to just take up overnight. If Jon said that Rob had bought the necklace Susie had been wearing, then Marcus believed it.
