Susanna noted the look on his face with a thrill of pleasure. Most times, she would have been glad just to escape after their little appointment with her cash. Right now, though, she appreciated the gifts he'd given her, so much so that she wanted to show him her appreciation. In a way that would be comfortable for him.
"Better? That's flattering." She gave a half-laugh, ducking her head as she reached up to push a curl of hair from her cheek. Something had shifted. She felt better. Put together. Such a thing a couple of pretty gifts could do.
"You can say it over and over again and I'd never get tired of it." She turned on her heels and took a couple of slow steps towards him, closing the distance between them. "Thank you, Robert. Have I ever told you how much I appreciate our time together? I really do."
