Koen resisted the urge to roll his eyes and, not for the first time, cursed the fact that Ginnifer wasn't here to deal with this man. Normally, he had acres of patience. Normally, he was the one the clients preferred dealing with.
This was not normal. This was a mutilated body on his property, in broad daylight; this was an open act of aggression.
"Honestly? Yes. Your itinerary would be very useful. And I am not threatening you, Mr. Fletcher. I am simply letting you know what I was told. I have no intention of telling anyone anything, but Ms. Friedmann is her own person."
Koen stood, then, lifting his eyes from the paperwork on his desk to meet the vampire's gaze. "Everyone is being treated exactly the same. I have been in this business for a very long time, Mr. Fletcher, and I know exactly how to run it. There has been a brutal murder on our premises, premises filled with murderers, bloodletters, and--apparently--teleporters. Everyone is being questioned, and it is being kept quiet; we are not calling the police, for instance, and trying to keep everyone here is part of our effort at not allowing rumors to get started in town. To be quite frank, you are capable of such brutality. Very nearly everyone here is. We are trying to clean up our 'mess', as you so callously put it, in the most efficient way possible."
Seemingly spent, Koen sat back down, eyes flickering. "Avery was a very dear boy. A money-maker, yes, but also...a good employee. I apologize if my manner seems harsh to you, but you must understand: I am not the thing to be afraid of, here. If you must leave, I would most certainly appreciate a list of where you are going. My...superior...would be unhappy with the development, but so long as your alibi is solid, I do not think he can do much."
