Even knowing that Teagan was not a normal girl, definitely not a real human girl like she appeared, didn't stop Tatum was expecting her to react indifferently to her presence like every other girl. Most people were oblivious to Tatum, and generally, she liked that, just fading into the background comfortably. But when it came to people that she liked, whether they were regular people or not, Tatum was always silently thrilled when they seemed happy to see her.
Teagan was no exception, and the enthusiastic greeting (and scent) that she received from the myconid had the little redhead beaming. "I h-had no idea I was s-so musky," she joked back weakly, hoping she was properly emphasizing the sarcasm. Teagan didn't always, in Tatum's opinion, do so well with the sarcasm.
But when Teagan was enthused to see her, Tatum found it even easier to return the sentiment. She didn't even feel too embarrassed about looking so enthusiastic. She'd deduced a while ago that the weird smells that Teagan could emit in different situations, all of them, had to mean something. When around her, Teagan seemed to emit smells that Tatum found favorable, and this interaction was just the same.
She didn't even feel embarrassed about the fact that Teagan was talking about things like 'chemical signature' and 'musk patterns' in the middle of a public grocery store full of other shoppers. If they were getting weird looks, she was oblivious to it for once. "I was- j-just getting a few.. things."
Her eyes trailed to the basket in her hand briefly, at the handful of mismatched items she'd picked out so far, and her mind briefly fighting the fog of relaxation enough to worry that the other girl might find her purchases strange. She was one of those people with a fridge full of condiments, and little else. Everything else tended to be quickly consumed junkfood, which the cookies and chips proved.. at least there was the orange juice, for vitamins. But then, Teagan was shoving two packs of florescent lashes toward her as she approached, and there wasn't much stranger than that. She'd never had fake lashes on her grocery list.
She didn't want to make Teagan think that she thought she was strange, however, a fact she was always mindful of. Teagan was strange, weird most definitely, but Tatum liked her.. and Tatum was always considered a little weird herself, so how would it be fair to act like she was superior or something? Makeup was far from her thing, but she didn't hesitate a bit to step closer, and give her honest, genuine opinion on the lashes. Or at least the colors.
"I l-liked the green.. b-but the orange w-would look r-really nice with your h-hair.." Reaching out for the row of costume lashes in front of the other girl, Tatum picked up a pink pair. "T-These would p-probably be m-my favorite though, honestly!"
