Oh perfect. Saint was just the person Ricky had been hoping to run into before Rob spotted her. She’d had some hopes of grooming the new girl, Eden, to be a blood donor but Saint was already willing and, if she could take Rob off her hands Ricky would be more than happy to let him go. She considered answering Saint’s question candidly. She could tell her how fussy he was. How condescending. How downright rude he could be about some things. She could express her distaste for the way he fed so impersonally, or the way he complained the entire time he was taking blood. She could say a lot of things about him, but that probably wouldn’t help her when it came to unloading him.
“Long time client,” Ricky said, instead, giving Saint a slow wink. “Vampire. But I just had a vamp client night before last and I don’t think I’m up for another blood transfusion tonight.” She sighed heavily, in a world weary sort of way. “He’s not a huge fan of tattoos so I thought maybe I’d turn him off for the evening, you know?” She shrugged. She wasn’t above playing the pity card to get what she wanted. If Eli saw her dressed this way he was sure he’d probably see right through her, but she was hoping he might let it slide. What she’d said was essentially true. She’d had a brand new vamp client barely two nights ago and he’d taken a lot. While it wasn’t unheard of for her to take two clients in a week, as long as the doc had her blood type ready, it was risky. And Rob wasn’t really worth that risk in her opinion.
