Rachel dressed up to be Rachel, part of the reason it tickled her, was the way it played on one of the underlying themes of Blade Runner. Are you really certain you know who you are? What you are? A theme all so appropriate for The Red Door as well. So Rachel didn't laugh at Bryant’s ironic choice of words, but obviously her smiles were going to be frequent and full tonight. The initial compliment drew out another smile, but the earnestness in Bryant's voice left Rachel feeling a little bashful.
"Thank you, " She murmured, ducking her head to nibble at a bit of watermelon she had picked from the platter earlier, suddenly eager to go and get those drinks. Of course she should have realized the idea would divert Bryant on the errand. It was rare event to see Bryant in a social setting, so Rachel felt a pang of guilt when he took up her idea, but it would be rude to refuse. Besides if it gave him a reason to stay longer then she could live with that. Putting on a pleasant smile, she acquiesced, "A mint julep please."
She chuckled slightly, Rachel usually laughed at what she thought were Sebastian's jokes even though sometimes she did wonder how he might truly mean some of his odder statements. "You will be hard pressed to find a skeleton to replace him." What would both of them do if they ever had to find a replacement for the good doctor? Not a thought train to carry through during a party but Rachel was suddenly solemn, "Thank you, Sebastian as always for throwing these things together. One day we will have to pull something together for you."
