"You know your flattery doesn't work on me," she informed him, but between the pleasant little blush and her smile, it was pretty clear that Saint's flattery did, in fact, work wonders on the blind girl. There was something in the way he spoke, it made Dahlia think that Saint might have been constructed out of silk and grace and something beautiful that she longed to see. Even without the use of sight, she was absolutely certain that the fairy was gorgeous. She couldn't put her finger on why exactly, besides his very long list of talents, but she was always quick to ask for him when he was in town.
"You've been gone way too long this time, Saint." Dahlia pouted, but the expression quickly shifted to one of mock surprise. "Lucy isn't a beast." At the mention of her name, the dog's big, dark eyes shifted from the fairy to her master, soft ears perked and ready to receive her instructions. "Maybe I need her here to protect me from the real beasts." They both knew Dahlia was just goading now, all daring smiles and mischievous eyes hidden behind dark glasses.
"How long are you in town for? Please tell me it's for a few days this time, at least. I'll make it worth your while," she promised, and after so long of paying the entertainers for their time, it was as natural as the breaths she inhaled into her lungs. "I'll even pay double just to be in your dazzling presence." Smirking, she ran her hand over the top of Lucy's head, paying extra attention to the space behind her sensitive ears.
Rachel's greeting had her attention momentarily compromised from the fairy, and she smiled in the direction of the voice. "Hey, Rachel. Happy Halloween!"
