The time to indulge Halloween was long over. Rachel no longer had the free time to invest in anything too complicated. But this year Halloween fell on a Sunday, so she devoted a good portion of the day to her costume. Unfortunately choosing a costume was also slightly difficult these days. Her closet was full of black and white dresses that she could, with a little make up, quickly whip into a passing witch, zombie, or ghost. When your party was at the Red Door though the traditional supernatural fair just seemed rude.
The better part of a day passed, as Rachel stood in front of her closet her hands on her hips as she tried to piece together possibilities. She was considering buying some costume package, something she had never done before, when her eye caught sight of the angular black dress and an idea finally sparked. The rest of the day was spent in the bathroom, amid bobby pins, and every sort of holding spray she could dig out of her cabinets perfecting the vintage roll hair style. What hair she didn't comb forward into the roll that hung low on her forehead mimicking bangs, she made into a triangular roll at the base of her neck.
She had to get shoulder pads to make the shoulders of her dress more angular, but in the end Rachel was very pleased with the result. Actually she was a little tickled to be dressed up as Rachel from Blade Runner. Tickled enough to have a hard time wiping the smile off her face and really produce the replicant mood.
"Happy Halloween guys," She couldn't contain her excitement as she slipped into the room. "Evening Dahlia, Saint, Sebastian" She addressed the blind girl first, that always seemed like the right thing to do but it was Sebastian she crossed the room to meet. He was their host after all so she had to pay her respects. Besides with the hustle of the day she had neglected to eat so the platters by Sebastian were quite tempting.
