The slight puncture twinged a bit, as it always did but she was used to it and didn’t even flinch. Her teeth sank into her lower lip a bit, but that was the only outward sign that she felt it at all. She never would have admitted it, but she was a tiny bit relieved that he went for the wrist and not the neck. She’d fed plenty of vampires the traditional way, and had no fears on that score. But he was a new client, and she didn’t know yet how far he could be trusted. The wrist was easier to take care of, and it was harder for him to kill her that way. Until she knew him better, assuming he made these visits a regular occurrence, she preferred it this way. She watched him feed, more than a little turned on. It was only a natural reaction. He wasn’t really her type, though he was handsome enough. But habit won out. More than a few of her vampire customers came in for the whole experience, and her body reacted to that understanding even if she didn’t intend it to.
Ricky was surprised, in the end, by just how gentle he was. She didn’t flinch away from the pressure he put on her arm and, as he placed the compress against the bite mark, she raised a brow at him inquisitively. Most vamps simply pulled out and let her bleed. There were a few exceptions of course. Her bosses never would have let her stain the sheets on their behalf and Rob, for all his faults, could be counted on not to make a mess. But this, from a new client, was surprising.
Sitting up carefully, her head spinning just a bit from the blood loss, but that was normal, she raised her arm above her head. Keeping the compress clamped firmly against the cut with her other hand, she decided to maybe push her luck a little bit. See just how nice a guy he could be. “There’s medical tape in the drawer. Would you mind?” She asked it nicely, but in a way that implied she already knew he would. The way she might have asked him if he’d been to see her a hundred times in the past. She kept the pressure firm and watched him.
