"I won't leave you, I'm here," the blonde answered firmly, even as Dahlia fussed and fought against her wrapping her arms around her. There was no getting around it, even though every noise of pain that came from the brunette made shivers run down the blonde's spine, chilled her right through to her blood. Especially since she felt almost certain that she was causing a great majority of extra pain to the other girl. But there was no time to think about that, or to hesitate in her actions. She had to get her up, back to the car, to safety.
If she could get Dahlia to the car, into a source of light, she could at least assess what kind of wounds they were dealing with. What kind of damage had been done. She knew first-aid, the basics anyway, enough that she might be able to do something to hold the brunette until they got to some real help. It was bad obviously, but all that Jenny could make out in the darkness was a mess of blood with no definitive points of origin. There was nothing she could do with no information, no visuals, no handle on the situation. Dahlia was in a real mess. "I won't leave you!" she repeated again, "I know it hurts, but you can, I know you can!"
For one, she didn't much have a choice. Jenny had never seen an animal like that in her life, and she didn't fancy the idea of coming face-to-face with it again. There wasn't even time to panic about that, to question what the fuck it had even been.
It took some maneuvering, but she got her arms around the other girl as best as she could, so that Dahlia could loop her arms around her neck and lean her weight on her, as much as she needed.. once she got them standing. And got Dahlia to lift her arms. Which were the first hurdles of many. Dahlia was bigger than her, had always been taller, and supporting all of her weight might be doable in Jenny's moment of adrenaline. She'd lifted girls just as big in cheerleading.
But that was admittedly done with some help, with another girl lifting from the other side, and so she knew it wouldn't be easy to move her friend all on her own. She'd have to pull her along through the woods, inch by inch, if the brunette didn't work with her on this. But she was not opposed to doing that, if she lost consciousness or something. She wouldn't break her word, wouldn't leave her behind.
Even tugging Dahlia up into a half-sitting position, the girl seemed to howl with agony, but Jenny would do what she had to do. She had to. "I will drag you if I have to, you can get up!" Jenny insisted to her friend, her voice coming out a little harsher than she'd intended, desperate and fierce. She knew that Dahlia was in pain, but the only way to fix that was to get away from where they were. "I will.. I'll fucking piggyback you, babe, please! Whatever you need, just.. hang onto me, get up, please Dahlia."
She was trying to be strong, but another sob escaped her against her will, and she quickly shook her head against it. She pulled at Dahlia again, urging her to hold onto her for support, to let her lift her up. "Come on, you're so strong, I know you are."
