WHO: Eli (and possibly Serena and Jenny?)
WHAT: Eli sees something he never wanted to see
WHEN: Tuesday (same time as Gil/Serena rape)
WARNING: Relating to rape scene, so will have content referring to that.
After he and Jenny had thoroughly explored their cell, learning where food and water came from, and tried to ignore the distillery staring ominously at them through the clear walls, Jenny had fallen into a fitful doze. Eli had turned deliberately away from the armless, legless things suspended in pods; he'd tried to speak to Max, but had only managed pantomimes establishing that the other man was all right--well, as all right as he could be. He hoped that Max had understood that this girl with him was Dahlia's wife; if he had, Eli was sure Max would try to reassure the blind woman.
Not that there was anything reassuring about this place. He didn't understand how Jenny could sleep at all, really, except for that she'd worn herself out with panic and stress.
He was awake, staring broodily into the cells that surrounded him, when he first noticed a commotion a few cells over; it was the strange, quiet girl who'd asked for a fishing rod through Marcus, and some guy he didn't recognize. Serena, that was her name. She'd seemed withdrawn, but she'd wanted to help...he didn't know her, really. But everyone in here should be equal, right?
Wait. Eli's eyes narrowed and he stood up, striding to the very edge of the cell and pressing his face against it. Was he--?
Oh, shit! He knew it was futile, but he banged on the barrier, shouting.
"Hey! Hey, stop!" What the hell was that guy doing?!? He'd pinned Serena down, and he was...no. That was unacceptable! Eli's cheeks flushed darkly in rage and he clawed impotently at the wall. That fucker! That fucker, how dare he?!?
It was over quickly, but not quickly enough, and Serena seemed...shocked. Of course she was shocked! She'd just been fucking assaulted, and now she was trapped with her assaulter. Eli waved, frantically. Maybe she'd see him. Maybe he could do something, gesture to her that he was on her side. Maybe he could let her know that she wasn't alone.
