"Ah. Really? Hm. How very rare." To his credit, Rob did manage to refrain from scoffing, but he wasn't sure what to think about this information. It was definitely not what he was expecting. He'd never met a medium, really, and certainly had some preconceived notions given what he knew of the practice. Still, she seemed legitimately intelligent, and she claimed she wasn't a charlatan... which, admittedly, was what a charlatan would claim. On the other hand, he also didn't know any deaf people. There were those who claimed that the brain would compensate for the lack of a primary sense by heightening others. Perhaps she just had a keen awareness of her surroundings, something that made her a very good... life coach, or therapist.
"Well... I... can't say I know very much about your field, I'm afraid," he offered, somewhat lamely. She was lovely, well-mannered, and not asking him for money. The least he could do was refrain from judgment. "I don't... even know what a medium does."
