"I don't know if we even want to know," Max said quietly. "If these people in the other cells are any indication, they want to dissect us and find out what's going on inside of us. But if that's the case, why put us in here at all? And why pair us off like this? Wouldn't it be easier just to kill us when they knocked us out the first time?"
He exhaled, shaking his head and running his hand through his hair, glancing around the room again. His gaze stopped on the pregnant girl suspended in the tubes and cables again and he moved closer to the clear wall, narrowing his eyes a little bit before his brain clicked.
"...maybe they're studying us. Like animals in a zoo."
