By two o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, Rob’s prediction of a turn in the weather had come to fruition. The clouds blocked out the sun in a foreboding way, but they brought no release from the heat. The rain wasn’t particularly hard, but it was relentless, lasting several hours. A warm, muggy rain that wasn’t uncommon to the tropics. A hot shower lacking the water pressure needed to rid the island survivors and their belongings of any sand or grit. All it did was make things wetter, the air more difficult to breathe. |
