Rob York looked like a man who hadn’t slept or eaten in three days. This was due to the fact that he hadn’t. He’d accepted water, so long as it was the pre-packaged kind. A stale taste was preferable to whatever people might contract from inefficiently sterilizing drinking water found on the island. He’d thought it all too convenient when another castaway had materialized with knowledge of a freshwater source, and since he couldn’t confirm that Eli had been on the main ship one way or another, Rob choose not to trust him. It wasn’t really personal, so much as a natural side-effect of not trusting anyone. Protein bars weren’t to his liking, and he was concerned about allergens in anything else. Being of the belief that rescue was imminent, Rob had been able to stave away hunger with sheer force of will. Sleep was a harder necessity to dodge, and that was weighing on him more more than the lack of food. |
