He did trust her. Implicitly. It was the fact that he thought she didn't KNOW what was best for her that bothered him. And it certainly wasn't the sentiment that she couldn't take care of herself if she ever needed to. It was that taking care of her was his job. It always had been, and always would be, and a scrawny, angst-filled little Gryffindor boy wasn't going to change that.
