Though he had kept track of the days from the beginning of summer, dreading every minute that passed and every day on his calendar that seemed to have slipped through his fingers, Sirius was still surprised by the fact that there was only a week until the holidays were finished.
When he first opened his eyes, a good three hours before his alarm was set to go off, it had seemed like just any other morning. He stretched, yawned, scratched his stomach, and squinted at the clock hung alllll the way across the room. "Good for nothing internal clock," he grumbled, fully intending to flop back down into his bedclothes and close his eyes for another hour or so. Then he froze.
One week. That was it?
He scrambled out of bed, kicking the bedclothes unceremoniously away from him so that they landed in a pile on the floor. His laptop, a sleek black model, waited on the mahogany desk across the floor--currently covered in what seemed to be an impossible amount of dirty clothes for a room occupied by only one boy. In record time, he landed in the chair and booted up the computer, tapping his fingers impatiently on the rim of the computer's surface as it wished him a good morning. Without hesitation, the moment the Hogwartschat icon came into view, he double-clicked and automatically signed in.
