She'd just known that she had to come up here. She didn't have much reason other than a ridiculous nightmare, a problem that could have been cured with a quick trip to the Hospital Wing. But she'd gone with that first instinct, and now she didn't know what to do from there. A little bit of panic was beginning to brew in the back of her mind at this thought. Where in Merlin's name was she going to start? Because she certainly didn't want to tell him about the dream...
She looked at his outstretched hand for a moment, almost as if studying it before she gingerly placed her hand in his and climbed onto the bed, tugging the curtain closed behind her. She sat down, her legs tucked underneath her body in a very dainty, lady-like fashion. Her black curls, twisted into a long, messy braid, hung over her shoulder. Her mouth opened as if she was going to start speaking, but then it snapped closed again, and heaved a great, big sigh. She looked down at her hands, silent for a few very, very long seconds.
"Do you think I'm too nice?" she suddenly blurted out in a hushed voice. She continued on before he could even think about a response. "Ted talked to me today like I knew he'd eventually do. He told me that he didn't really kiss whatsername, that she kissed him. And honestly, I don't really care anymore. It's just... I started out so angry with him, but by the end of our five minute conversation, I was apologizing to him. How on earth does that happen?! Somehow I apologized to a... an arrogant jerk that I just want to forget about. I don't even remember what I apologized for!" She stopped when she realized that she was getting to be a bit too loud for the late hour. Her eyes widened, and she covered her mouth in horror. She whispered "Sorry," through her fingers and took another deep breath.
"So I think I must be defective somehow," she continued, once again in at a reasonable volume level, "Because normal people just don't do that."
