Oh God, oh Merlin, he couldn't think straight. Was this some sort of evil hallucination, brought on from some karmic retribution? Had he ever done anything to merit this kind of absolute terror? There was a girl in the middle of his dorm at three o'clock in the morning. And not even just any girl! Andromeda Black! Bloody hell, he was going to be blood-eagled if Sirius ever caught wind of this.
"N-no.. I mean, yes, yes, I'm fine." He said, hurriedly, not making a whole lot of sense out of her words. One of his hands lifted to rub the spot of his head where the wooden bedpost had met his skull. He was still struggling to come to terms with what was happening - he really wasn't good at waking up, he was often bleary all through breakfast - but through his fuddled thoughts, he did his best.
He was just listening as she tried to explain whether or not she was all right, looking up at her with a bit of a confused - and still waking up - look on his features. He was slightly horrified, and his stomach turned over, when she sat down, but that sure as heck didn't mean he wanted her to jump up like she did.
"You don't have to leave." He said, hushed but still more decisive than he had expected it to come out. He was really just surprised it hadn't included a stutter. "I-I just.. I just can't really.. um, think." With that, he groaned, and put a head to his forehead, trying to piece together how this was supposed to make sense. She was here. Because she couldn't sleep, and there were things on her mind, and she came to see him.
THUNK. It literally hit him, like a ton of bricks. A lot of things on her mind? She was thinking about Ted, and about Romeo. But she came to him, here in the Gryffindor dorms, rather than going to Ted in the Ravenclaw dorms--where she had already been. With that realization came a brand new set of fears. What if she had already been to see Ted and this midnight visit was to try to break it to him easily? What if he had to live up to expectations, or she would go see Ted? Well he sure as hell wasn't living up to them right now!
"You d-don't have to leave." He said, even quieter. He glanced up at her now, the pain subsiding just by looking at her. Geez, didn't that have to mean something, if nothing else did? He immediately scooted toward the wall, reaching out a hand for her to join him on the bed. So they could close the curtains. Quickly. Before anyone else noticed, and felt the need to alert Sirius.
