He could feel the mattress creaking beneath him as Cassidy shifted. He turned on his side and was about to ask her if she was uncomfortable. He was suddenly greeted with Cassidy's warm body against his own, his forehead colliding with hers. The groan that escaped his lips soon turned into an outright laugh, and he leaned into her, laughing against her neck before he fell on his back and covered his face with his hands.
"I'm sorry," he said once he calmed down a bit. "Only my luck," he muttered to himself, still chuckling. He sighed as the tight knot in his stomach relaxed. He leaned back toward Cassidy and took her hand in his, playing with her fingers as he spoke. "I'm just a little nervous."
