If he was startled, Albus didn't show it as he looked up at where Mrs Potter had appeared amongst the plants. Instead he offered her a pleasant smile.
"Good morning." He pulled himself to his feet. "I hope I didn't disturb you... Is this fluxweed?" He gestured to the happily waving leaves. Albus was much more used to magical plants in their picked, dried state, as usually found in potions. It had been a while since he had ventured into places they grew.
"I'm sorry to interrupt," he continued. "I was hoping to speak to you about some ingredients I was looking at procuring." Albus took a careful step towards her, crossing his arms across his chest and tilting his head a fraction, bright blue eyes fixing unwaveringly on the young witch. There was a part of Albus, buried deep down, which felt a little uncomfortable in her presence. He knew that his older self had made some... questionable decisions regarding her family. He only had to hope that it wouldn't be held against him.
