Are we still permitted to leave the castle to go out on an excursion?
Or has that been halted due to recent events?

Anyone know?

If we are allowed, and I manage to get to a bookstore, can someone recommend me something to buy to read. Surprise me. I'm open to any selection anyone might make.

Outside the castle grounds seems a bit safer than inside, even if temporarily.

Are you looking for fiction or non-fiction? I'm afraid I'm a bit behind even what would have been available in your time. But, my last two forays into muggle literature were The Warhound and the World's Pain by Michael Moorcock and the Amyntas by André Gide.

The Moorcock, I think, would particularly appeal to you.

It does. Even more so it is filled with limitless opportunity, if one is inclined to see it that way.

Fiction would be preferable. I will be sure to add it to my list, although I am curious. What about this book do you think would appeal to me?

I think it would speak to the sometimes contrary side of your nature that delights in contradictions.

The main character is a mercenary in the Thirty Years' war who is tasked by Satan with protecting the Holy Grail in a bid to win God's favour and allow Satan to return to heaven, while also freeing Mankind from interference of both Heaven and Hell, therefore saving the mercenary's own soul.

That's a very astute observation. I wont deny that I do enjoy it when all the pieces dont quite fit.

That does sounds interesting. If I manage to locate a copy, I will be sure to tell you what I think of it. That is part of the deal, recommend and then get feedback.

Nothing wrong with that. The contradictions are what make life interesting, the exceptions to the rules.

I'll look forward to hearing what you make of it.

The rules about leaving are still the same.

The recommendation for the books is something best left to others.

That's good to know.

Really? Not even a single book has ever once held your interest?

I can honestly say that there isn't a single book that I would recommend. There was our textbook for sixth year potion, but mostly because I got an used copy with notes on the side that made potions a lot easier, but that was just self interest and not really enjoyment.

That explains quite a lot, Potter. I did wonder how you seemed to have an odd knack for potions. It seemed to come very easy to you, and now I know why. I never cared much for potions in truth. Reasonably good at it or not. It was never really my thing.
