Jamie searched the titles in silence, more than happy to let the other man enjoy his studies in peace. He recognized most of the books on the lower shelves. While not as obsessive as Aunt Hermione or Uncle Percy, Jamie had not been the typical Gryffindor who never cracked a book unless under protest. He'd had too many expectations and people watching, waiting for him to fail, to risk actually failing. He might have done a good bit of studying when he should have been sleeping because his days had been filled with social activities when he wasn't in class. But, sleep was over-rated in your teens.
And maybe in your twenties.
Unless it was too early.
He might have startled when Dumbledore spoke, but the man had a way of speaking out of the blue without seeming to be out of the blue. "They're as well as can be expected under the circumstances," he said, summoning one of the floating step ladders. He stepped up to where he could read the titles above his head more easily. "They're both working with Marlene to repair as much of the damage as possible." They would just have to hope for the best and, if there were roadblocks, well, Jamie could find a spell for them same as he was doing for Scorpius.
"I'm sure they'd both love a visit from you, if you're inclined to keep them company for a bit." Ah, Punishing Transfigurations and Transformations from Myth. Those looked promising. Holding out his hand, Jamie summoned them both and balanced them on the top of the step ladder to flip through them. "Big brother gets a bit hovering and annoying after awhile, I'm sure."
