"I'll see what I can do to make that happen," Remus replied with a laugh that wasn't quite his usual warm rumble, but held more energy than a week prior.
He couldn't quite contain a snicker at the description of Snape's imperious scowl. Weirdly, he understood that such a reaction was probably the older man's way of hiding his real emotions over nearly dying. "Well, I for one am just as glad it was you. Somehow I don't think I could use the same methods of showing my appreciation with Snape." Remus grinned, shifting so that he could raise Regulus' hand to his lips. "Although, if no strenuous activity is allowed, I may have to wait to thank you properly."
Sitting back, he let his eyes rove over Regulus' form as he spoke. Regulus looked tired, at least to someone who had spent an inordinate amount of time looking at him over the last several months, learning his expressions and tones. Remus moved closer to one edge of the bed to give Regulus room to join him on the bed even if he was certain he wouldn't be able to coax him into actually laying down with Remus. "You've earned a break, I think. Didn't we talk about your needing to supervise my recovery closely to make sure I rest? Or was that a fever dream?"
