Jamie and Scorpius
Jamie had been to check on Al and the others in the Infirmary the day before after speaking with his dad. But, when he'd looked, Scorpius was in conference with Marlene and Jamie hadn't wanted to intrude. The next time he checked, Scorpius had been asleep. Since Jamie had decided to spend his birthday evening outside the infirmary, he hadn't gotten back.
So, after he'd done his usual check-in on LiLu and Al that morning, he made a point of going to check on Scorpius. This time, he found his brother's best friend alone, seemingly awake, and he pulled a chair nearer to the bed. Transfiguring the uncomfortable visitor's chair into something with a little more padding and contour, -- after a week of sitting in the things at various bedsides, Jamie's back and arse would be happy never to do so again -- he gave the younger man a smile as he sat down.
"So, spill. Dad actually remembered my birthday yesterday and said there had been a surprise dinner planned. Which one of you forgot to tell him or the grandparents I hate surprises?" he teased before reaching out to let his hand hover over Scorpius' arm a moment in greeting. "How are you feeling?"
