To all residents of the castle, I offer you my sincere and heartfelt thanks for all you have done to aid myself and those injured. Your help is both appreciated and has not gone unnoticed.

[Warded to the Potter Family, Malfoy Family, Regulus Black, Sirius Black]

It has become necessary at this time to consider other options as we wait for a cure. In order to stave off the effects of the poison and suspend it's progress we will have to petrify those infected. I understand this process may be unsettling for some of you, however you feel please know that this is the best and only course of action we have left available to us at this time. The process will be painless and easily reversible.

It is the best chance we have to save those who are afflicted.

I can only wait a short time before beginning. So please, anything that must be done in preparation for you and yours, do so now.

[Warded to Theodore Nott and Peter Pettigrew]

I wanted to make you both aware that it has become necessary at this time to petrify those whose injuries were more substantial than your own. It is the only action we have left to keep everyone alive while we wait to find a cure. At this time, unless you wish it, I will leave you both as are, until at such a time it becomes necessary. Which I sincerely hope it does not.

I was doing much the same. It may be worth our looking for not those birds in particular but what they may have become now later in time. Since they are foreign to us all and are not present in our time, I thought it wise to look into what other species they may have bred with or evolved into.

And various poisons of creatures whose effects are similar.

The problem with only looking at possible descendants is that a) we don't know if there are any, since they could have gotten extinct without mutating and b) we don't know how old they are making it really hard to guess how much they would have mutated. I'm not saying that we shouldn't look, but we need to work this from both angles.

No. I agree. We consider all angles. We find what we can and then we go with what might be a gut instinct at this point. We can and should consider all options.

We also might have to just try whatever antidotes we can come up with and see what happens. We will have to try it all first. It's only logical. Before trying giving anything to the others.
