Re: Regulus/Remus
"I know you will." Remus chuckled softly, fingers curling around Regulus'. "Just like you know I'd do it again if I had to. For him. For you." He wasn't going to say the words he wanted to. Not from a sickbed when the implications were too much like 'good-bye'. "And, you're one to talk, throwing yourself into the fray to save Marlene. I remember that part, too."
Teasing gave him a chance to digest what Regulus was saying. It was concerning that so many of those who might be able to thoroughly research this were also the ones worst hit by it. But, Remus still wasn't ready to call it a loss. They would figure this out. Regulus and Harry wouldn't give up on them. Smiling softly, he nodded. "All right. Bring me what notes you've got. I may not be able to help with the potion part, but I can try to figure out what these birds are. They're not something from our time, not something I recognize, at least. So, we'll have to go back further. Did the Troll really eat them? If so, monitor him. If he doesn't get sick and die, maybe there's something there we can use."
He squeezed Regulus' hand as best he could. "I have absolute in faith in you, cariad. You'll figure it out. And I can help. At least a little." Remus winked, a slow, tired approximation of his usual teasing. "And when I'm cured, you can take me home to yell out properly."
