Re: Regulus/Remus
It was tired and weak, but a small smile brightened Remus' expression at hearing Regulus' scolding. A quiet huff that could have been a laugh escaped him. "I'm afraid I was a bit of a Gryffindor," he admitted, lifting his hand to reach for Regulus. "It was me or Sirius. I could take the hit better than he could have. Probably still can. Once this burns through my system, I'll be fine."
He knew what the whispers were when they thought he was asleep. No cure. Likely to die. But, Remus had beaten the odds once before, when he wasn't quite four. He wasn't ready to give up now. Not when he finally had everything that truly mattered. Remus had too much to live for now. And too much faith in the man at the side of his bed to believe it was all for lost before they'd even tried.
"I'm better now that I can see you're okay. You are okay, yes? And Sirius? The others?"
