RP: Albus and Kirley
Who: Albus Dumbledore and Kirley Duke
When: March 1st, sunrise
Where: Fourth floor corridors
What: New arrivals

Albus wasn't a naturally early riser, but he'd wanted to get out early in order to collect some doxies for his seventh year class. He was woken, therefore, by the sound of the kettle shrieking on a small blue flame from the corner of his rooms. With a sigh, the young Professor eased himself into a sitting position and rubbed his sharp blue eyes with the heels of his hands.

"I'm awake," he told the kettle, not ungrumpily, and the pot picked itself up off  the heat and began pouring boiling water into the waiting teacup. For his part, Albus stretched and swung his feet out of bed and into the cold flagstone floor.

Once suitably hydrated, dressed and wrapped up in a thick travelling cloak, Albus stepped out into the brisk morning air. As expected, the grounds of Hogwarts were empty at this time of morning, before even the sun had deigned to show itself. The winter air was crisp and calm, and it was easy to enjoy a sense of peace as he strode towards the edge of the forest. It was a pleasant feeling, despite his initial displeasure at the early hour, and one the professor rarely felt anywhere else.

The errand itself was rather unremarkable. Albus had asked the crooked old gamekeeper the best spot to visit, and the capture of the creatures had taken barely any time at all, sleepy as they were. In fact, it was only on his walk back to the castle that he noticed anything odd. Snowdrops. Dozens of them, peeking their delicate heads out underneath the blanket of leaves at the base of the trees. It was a very strange time of year for them, Albus thought. Especially as the winter has been so very cold...

As he stepped out of the trees and stared up to the school, the bag of doxies rustling on his back, his sense of unease grew. Albus wasn't sure what had changed, exactly, but there was certainly... something. It hummed through the air, just out of his reach. With a small frown, he started back towards the castle, the sudden spring wind rumpling through his auburn hair.

There ought to be some movement by now. The sun was coming up and usually, Albus knew from his mornings patrolling, you would find a few students rushing to the library for last-minute homework, or wandering to breakfast before an early Quidditch practice. But there was no one. Even the portraits seemed odd, occasionally giving him a double take as he climbed the staircases. He was quite sure he had never seen a few of them before this morning...

He was nearing his classroom, deciding to put the irritated doxies away and then go to the staff room to see if that made anything more clear, when he finally heard someone approaching. With no small sense of relief, Albus turned, peering down the corridor to see who was finally breaking his solitude.

Kirley woke with a groan. His head was pleasantly foggy, and his entire body felt like he'd been stampeded by a wild herd of hippogriffs. Or, in this case, a wild herd of horny young women. Three of them, in fact. Did three women make a herd? No matter, they'd certainly ridden him hard all night long. He couldn't complain.

He stretched without opening his eyes, reaching for warm, supple bodies. He only touched empty sheets. Disappointing, but maybe that was alright. The band had an early rehearsal and a show later; distractions could wait until the afterparty. He slowly opened his eyes, stretched again, then levered himself off the mattress. He pulled the sheet with him, not because of modesty but because there was an unusual chill in the room. He was going to have to talk to someone about the temperature charms again.

Padding across his carpeted bedroom floor, he kicked open the bathroom door with his foot and stepped through--into a hallway? Since when did the Bubble palace have such ugly stone hallways? Had there been an overnight renovation he wasn't aware of? He didn't think that was possible; Kirley was many things but he'd never not known when renovations were happening at the Palace. And  neither he nor any of the others would have approved of...this.

"What the fuck?" He must still be high from the night before. They'd taken some lovely psychedelic potions that induced visions; he was still tripping. "I'm going to have words with that madman the next time I see him."

Deciding to just see the trip to the end, he started wandering down the halls. If he didn't know better, he'd say this was Hogwarts. Why would a potion give him a vision of Hogwarts? Well, actually, he could think of a few reasons why, but there were no sexy seventh years in short robes to be seen, so he didn't think it was that type of vision. Disappointing, but who knew what would happen a few moments from now. These types of trips were wonky sometimes.

The halls were empty, and the portraits stared at him through his wanderings. He kept the sheet wrapped around his shoulders, but the stone was cold on his feet. He hadn't thought of slippers because he'd been expecting to walk into his bathroom with the beautifully heated tiled floor. He didn't remember the last trip with this specific potion being so...hyperrealistic. Clearly someone had made some modifications to the ingredients, and Kirley didn't think all the changes had been positive.

There was a figure at the end of the hallway, only coming into focus as Kirley got closer. Not a nubile young witch, but a tall, slender man dressed in a thick traveling cloak. He had an oddly broken nose, Kirley noticed.

"Hello there," Kirley said, his voice still husky from sleep and the aftereffects of the partying he'd done the night before. "I don't remember seeing you at my party last night, so you must be a lovely addition to this trip I'm on."

"Pardon me?" Albus blinked. The man was certainly not a student, but also wasn't another member of staff. And what trip? He hadn't heard of anyone due to be visiting Hogwarts this month. Not that he was privy to every coming and going in the school, but he did tend to notice those kind of things. Plus, he was relatively sure the headmaster preferred his guests to be clothed.

"Are you- are you lost?" He asked. He wondered if he should be calling someone, or at least be reaching for his wand, but it seemed difficult to be too worried about a half-asleep man who, if nothing else, seemed to be at risk of catching a chill.

He had some unusual tattoos, he noticed, not like any he'd seen before. Im fact, there were a few things that didn't seem quite right about him, in much the way the grounds and castle had seemed a little off just a few minutes previous.

"Right? This shit's trippier than I thought it'd be," Kirley said, with a grin towards the lovely vision in front of him. He didn't normally go in for gingers, so it seemed that his subconscious was trying to fill in a void. "I don't know about being lost. I didn't expect to wake-up here. Actually, I woke-up in my bedroom at the Palace, then walked through the bathroom door to...here. Like I said, the potion is trippier than I expected."

He shook his head to clear it a bit, because he wanted to be clear-headed enough to enjoy the trip while it lasted. Everything really was hyper-realistic though. He didn't remember being cold the last time he used this particular potion. Warm, even hot, but not cold. He also could have picked about a thousand better destinations than Hogwarts in what seemed to be the middle of winter, but then that was the point of psychedelic potions. You didn't get to control the trip you took.

"So darling, what's your story?" This man might be a vision within a potion-induced fantasy, but that didn't mean there wasn't a story. He always liked to play along and see where things went. He took a few steps closer, still holding the sheet around him. "You got a name?"

"The palace?" Albus repeated carefully, unsure if he'd heard the stranger correctly. This morning really was becoming more and more bizarre by the moment. He half expected one of his colleagues, or a student, or someone to come round the corner at any moment and perhaps shed some light on the situation, but the fourth floor remained disconcertingly empty.

If he understood correctly, which he wasn't sure he was, this man had arrived from a bathroom. The only facilites nearby that Albus could think of were the ones by the statue of the two-nosed witch, but that didn't seem right. And what was that about a potion?

He also wasn't entirely comfortable being called 'darling' by a complete stranger.

The bag of doxies still slung over his shoulder gave an irritated wriggle, pulling Albus back to the conversation.

"Albus Dumbledore," he replied, distractedly. "I teach transfiguration. And yourself?" It was automatic, really, the polite enquiry. As if the stranger wasn't stubbornly undressed and making zero sense in the middle of a hallway. The professor shook his head a fraction. "I'm sorry... what were you saying about a potion?"

"Ah, so that's how we're going to play this," Kirley said, his grin sliding into more of a smirk. It seemed his subconscious wanted to play hard to get, that was all right. He liked a challenge. Even when that challenge was his own mind. "The Bubble Palace, dove. It's much better than this drafty old castle, and no sticky children running about."

Kirley eyed the bag the man was carrying over his shoulder, wondering what sort of surprise was inside that was wriggling that way. However, when the man said his name all thoughts of the bag were driven from his mind. "Wait. What did you say? I must have heard you wrong." There was no way his subconscious would have come up with Albus Dumbledore, so something was very wrong here unless the potion was designed to simulate a young Dumbledore.

"The Mellow Yellow potion I took. It's giving me really weird trip. Albus Dumbledore? The fuck."

"The bubble palace?" Albus felt like he should probably stop repeating everything this man said. But it was easier said than done when everything that came out of his mouth was so... repeatably strange.

"I haven't heard of it," he replied, carefully. Albus thought he was a rather broad knowledge of potions, but that particular one must have passed him by. He frowned, rubbing the knot of bone in his broken nose thoughtfully. "But, you think this portion is what bought you here? To Hogwarts?"

Albus hesitated, glancing over his shoulder. It seemed very unusual that no students had arrived yet, especially as the sun was starting to stream through the windows. But perhaps that was for the best, all things considered.

"Would you like something to wear?" He finally offered. "Its rather cold."

"The Bubble Palace. I can tell you're not making it a proper noun," Kirley said because it was always very clear when people didn't know the Bubble Palace. Those people were few and far between, but they did exist. However, it was a little surprising that his subconscious had decided that this vision was so completely clueless. "No, I think this potion is making me think I'm at Hogwarts and has created you to keep me company. Why my subconscious decided to come up with a young Albus Dumbledore, I have no idea. I'll have to ask the makers if it was intentional, once the high wears off."

Kirley used Albus's distracted look over his shoulder to move closer. The high was going to wear off before things got interesting if he didn't stop worrying about how weird this potion was. Those concerns could wait until he was back to normal.

"I know a much more fun way to get warm," he said, with a grin. "And it doesn't involve more clothing."

Albus turned back to find the man was a good bit closer than he had been. Not to mention grinning in a way that the redhead found very unnerving. Still, that was nothing compared to his next words which, if Albus' startled expression and sharp step back were anything to go by, were downright alarming.

"I - uh... No, thank you," he managed to reply, his usual polite charisma deserting him in his surprise.

Did he know? No, surely not. Only one person knew and he had gone to the continent. Albus hadn't seen him in nearly a decade. But then why would this man proposition him like that? Was he looking for... or was Albus merely overthinking and misunderstanding?

Either way, better to focus on something else. Move the conversation swiftly on.

"I must assure you though," he said, pulling himself back together. "I'm not a product of your imagination, potion or otherwise. And this really is Hogwarts. Although..." he looked around. "I do agree that there seems to be something strange happening."

Kirley was amused by the vision's shyness. His subconscious was really pushing for a prolonged seduction it seemed. He supposed he had been a little bored lately, so maybe he was trying to tell himself to look for more challenges. Something to remember once the high wore off. Until then...

"All right, Albus Dumbledore, we'll play things your way for now." He adjusted the sheet. If there wasn't going to be a quick fuck against the wall in his near future, he really did want to be warm. "I'll take you up on the clothing offer, for the time being." Clothing could always be removed, after all. "If you don't mind?"

Since there seemed to be a sort of scripted scenario to this potion-induced fantasy, Kirley decided that it would be best to just go along to the natural conclusion. "I suppose we should figure it out then," he said. The faster they got through the scenario, the sooner he'd get off.

Albus vaguely wondered why he kept using his full name like that, but put it aside for now. Instead he nodded and reached for his wand. Letting the bag fall with a dull thud and a series of annoyed squeaks, he undid the clasp on his cloak and pulled it off, revealing the simple shirt and braces beneath.

A few flicks of his wand and a mumbled spell, and the cloak squirmed and morphed into a pair of trousers. Albus held them out. "If you'd like to get those on, I can make you a shirt from the sheet."

Once he'd handed the clothing over, he turned away and picked up the bag, heading to a nearby window. Keeping his back to allow the other wizard some privacy, the Professor waved his wand, causing the glass to vanish, and pulled open the drawstring. The doxies squealed and began to flutter, and Albus just about held them out in time for the creatures to vanish out the window and fĺy chattering
into the morning sky.

Albus turned back, shoving the bag into his pocket. "Ready?"
