"It works," he said to the name. Roxanne's excitement was almost contagious and he too felt the slight hitch in his stomach in anticipation. Not just for the astrarium to start but for how he was going to react when it did. He had already made his mind up as he had wound up the key, and he kept a watchful eye on Roxanne as her enthusiasm grew, and her excitement at creation boiled over. He took the hits to his arm with a playful shrug and smile, letting his arm come to rest lightly on the small of Roxanne's back.
It really was a wonder to look at in all it's completion. How to read it would come later but for now he could appreciate the simplistic beauty of the synchronicity of it's mechanics working in perfect metered perpetual motion. He listened intently knowing if anything was off, even by a little he'd hear it. People so very often took such simple and meaningful things for granted. Things worked because they did, and they gave so very little thought as to the how and the effort it took to bring something from nothing to realization. Then again most people were rubbish, he wagered. Although there were a few brightly burning lights amongst them.
Theo waited, keeping close watch on Roxanne out of the corner of his eye. When she stepped onto her tiptoes and leaned in with a sweet thank you, he pulled her in a little closer, his hand a little more firmly against the small of her back and turned to meet her. "Your welcome," he said close enough to feel the brush of his lips against her own as he spoke, before softly pressing his lips against her own.
