Re: Padma and Harry
"Don't look at me like that," he said, amused. "If I'm right, you were part of creating this entire scenario. Even Hermione couldn't have done it all alone while running the country. In fact, you might have been smack in the middle. Who knows? Maybe we convinced you that the Gryffindor way is that best way to survive." He knew what there was and wasn't on the veil, because he looked at everything he could, whether ye was allowed or not. "I'm not asking you to solve it, Padma, especially if the spell changed through eight years of people not being here, but the more we can find out, the better."
He let her ramble about what magic would do. "Considering all the magic we cast in that room ,I don't think it was as delicate as people thought. I can tell you that much. On the other hand, most people don't know what the Veil looks like so it's still just an arch to them."
He knew that she was being very logical about her conclusion. "Maybe your right, but are you asking me if it's logical or if I'd have done it? I think that if we didn't use it, it's in the vault. If we did, Hogwarts would make sense, but I wouldn't have done it. You and Hermione would have had to give me a very good reason why we should put that thing in the school. Could it be around here but not inside the castle? The school grounds are extremely extensive. What if we used the forest? We could have put spells around to prevent anyone from detecting it or getting close and the beings there would have provided security from anyone who tried to come from another country. Do you think it's far enough?"
