Re: Savannah/Jamie
"Why should we have the day off for Lilu's birthday?" Savannah asked, very confused at the sudden change.
"It is a day about him. It's a day where everyone celebrates him in their own way. His birthday is about how much everyone wants to celebrate him, and that's why I'm saying no parties, no ceremonies, none of that," Savannah said, "Just like it was long ago."
She shook her head. "Every country, Muggle and wizarding, has a special day for someone important in their history. Who's going to remember when the DA was formed? Do you think they remember when it was formed? I'm not diminishing what they did, but he's the one who saved everyone. It needs to be about him, because it's not just about us now, but people in a hundred years, Muggleborns who don't know, and it needs to have some connection with our lives before. Everyone keeps going on about tradition, but his birthday goes back forty something years for us, fifty now. You see him and see your father. I see him and see a symbol, and people need symbols."
