"From what I've seen through six years in school with Ron, the key to dealing with Molly's howlers is to ignore them." It had been Ron's way and it seemed to have worked. "And it'll never be just a hat to her. It's a matter of pride. Weasleys are Gryffindors. It was a mantra. I was shocked when I learned that her mother and Arthur's mother were both Slytherins and both Blacks." Although maybe that was the reason why she hated Slytherins. "Sirius hated Slytherins too and his brother was a Slytherin. It's always personal, and my paranoid streak tends to be correct, so I'm not sure it's really paranoia when people are up to something."
Harry nodded. "Probably. We must have done something, right? Even if it meant sending them to other countries. And... no? We should owl him, I guess. If the owl comes back, then we know that he's not alive." He wasn't sure he trusted the journals with everything that had happened."
He shook his head. "I didn't think it was. I was wondering just how much I deserved it, but it's probably easier if we skip that discussion." He knew he'd get defensive whether he'd done those things or not." He grinned. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I never got special treatment and neither did you," he said, winking at Jamie.
"I guess we're both going out of our way to explain things, but okay, we can do both. I'll never say no to magic and we have more clues to hunt, so I guess we'll spend plenty of time together. I know it doesn't make up for what you didn't have, but-" He shrugged. "I can do this if you want."
Harry snorted. "In a way yes, our way had an undercurrent of life and death situation but it's still the best up until the point Hermione decides that we need to research the spell before we actually do it, and then forces us to read. I don't even know why since we can't ever find anything and we waste more time." He had a feeling that Jamie could do plenty of research from the way he approached this chessboard. Harry let him do his thing, wand ready, because he didn't know what kind of power he'd need, but the reality was rather anticlimactic.
"How much will you bet that it's not the location?" he said as he went to alcove, reaching in to pick up the tablet and then realizing how much Hermione would yell at him for just putting his hand in there, but since he didn't die, he considered it a win. Harry took out the contents, which turned out to be a tablet. "It's the opening line of Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump." He might not know books, but he knew that book. "Were the Death Eaters involved in what was happening? They couldn't have been, right?" he asked with a frown.
