"Because I thought you wanted a true DMLE, but that's not what you're doing. You're not really creating a department that can deal with magical run of the mill problems and yes that includes Muggles, and because I wasn't given a choice," she said.
"But they did exchange money, because otherwise we couldn't have bought brooms and wands from foreign countries. That means that the goblins have changed money for us. Instead of asking for wizarding currency ask for Muggle one," she said, trying to calm down. "I'm not saying leave forever, but take a few hours here and there to see the world outside. Maybe- maybe you need to create a separate department. Keep your department, no matter what you want to call it small and trained, but then make another one that is a mix of things. A group of people that can see what's out there and can help us produce things. We might not be able to compete with big companies but we should be able to find something. Or what about our potion department. Instead of worrying about stocking up for our students, how about they create those fancy cosmetic potions that sell for a lot of money? And how about how the head of the DMLE starts making those wonderful toys his brothers used to make? Because those sell too and it would give us a way to make an impact on the outside world."
She shook her head. "No, go back to your soldiers, but I hope you see that this isn't life."
